Careers in ARET

ARET graduates in northeast Indiana work in drafting, architectural detailing, construction expediting, estimating, or sales. Graduates with experience hold jobs as senior drafting personnel, architectural job captains, construction supervisors, and contractors.

Degree Program

The Associate of Science (A.S.) program helps you prepare for technical employment with architects, engineers, builders, materials suppliers, and related government agencies. This program also prepares you to work toward a bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering Technology (CNET).

Student Organizations

There is an active chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers at IPFW. Professor Suining Ding advises IPFW's student chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers.

Dr. Elizabeth Thompson advises IPFW's student chapter of SWE: The Society of Women Engineers.

Scholarships

The ETCS Scholarships are open to all full-time or part-time majors in the College. You must have a GPA of at least 3.0, and incoming freshmen are eligible. The size and number of these scholarships vary from year to year. The deadline is March 1.

The Professor Lloyd W. Smith Scholarship is open to part-time or full-time students working on a degree in ARET, CET, or CNET who show merit and/or promise in that area.

The Ross Caldwell Architectural Engineering Scholarship is open to students majoring in ARET.

The American Society of Professional Estimators Scholarship is open to students majoring in ARET, CET, or CNET.

The Northeast Indiana Engineer's Society $1000 Scholarships are open to sophomores and juniors in a curriculum leading to a B.S. in Engineering Technology or Engineering. The student must have graduated from a northeast Indiana high school.

Accreditation

The ARET A.S. Program is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (TAC/ABET). Periodically, auditors evaluate program objectives and program outcomes.
